We are only as good as the fuel we choose. If your input is shitty, your output is going to be shitty, too. Try working 60+ hrs a week, working out, and running to your next zoom meeting eating nothing but Cheerios. You’ll be on the floor with exhaustion, unable to keep up with the demands you’re placing on yourself.
And those demands are okay. You’re fierce and determined, and want to become the best version of yourself. That’s awesome. We are here to help you reach those goals by letting you in on a secret I’ve already learned: that your diet = you, and you = your momentum.
Inspired ideas and productive days are only born of good, nourishing food choices. You need that mental clarity to reach those badass goals you’ve set for yourself without stopping yourself short in the middle of the day feeling tired, lethargic, and in need of an attitude adjustment.
You know how we throw around the terms “go with your gut” and having a “gut feeling” about something? Well, that’s not just metaphorical– there’s a real, physical connection between your gut and your brain backing those sentiments up. Long story short, that means that your gut health is crucial in keeping your mind sharp.
Our GI tracts have over 4,000 square feet of the intestinal lining. This lining creates a strong barrier that allows certain things to get absorbed by our bloodstream and blocks certain other things, like toxins and bugs. When that gut lining gets unhealthy, leading to leaky gut syndrome, that lining gets less discerning. Toxins and bugs allowed to pass into your bloodstream can lead to inflammation, changes in your normal gut bacteria, and other health issues.
Adrenal fatigue is another big one for ambitious women like yourself who are usually running a million miles an hour. If you’re under stress most of the time, you’re probably no stranger to the unexplained aches, pains, and fatigue you’re constantly dealing with. That’s adrenal fatigue, babe.
Adrenal fatigue is essentially your adrenal glands not being able to keep up with your body’s constant fight-or-flight state, which comes on in times of stress. Your body isn’t producing enough of the hormones needed to feel good.
We are no doctors, but we can share that our team has dealt with both of these issues, and changing our diets fixed us up QUICK. Lessening your stress levels and introducing regular self-care practices are essential, too. For now, though, we want to share this bomb smoothie recipe that starts our days off on the right foot every damn day.
1 tsp of Spirulina
1 tsp of Maca Powder
1 tsp of Turmeric
Pinch of Black Pepper
1-2 tsp of MCT Oil (If you have never taken MCT Oil, we would recommend starting with 1 tsp and working your way up to 2)
1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
1 large handful of raw spinach
2 tsp of Chia Seeds
1 cup of frozen fruit (Cherries, Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, etc.)
1 cup of cold filtered water (add as needed to reach desired consistency)
Put all in a blender (my fave is the Ninja!) + blend for 2-3 minutes until you reach your desired consistency!
Here’s the lowdown on all of these amazing ingredients:
Spirulina: Spirulina has the power to detox your body of heavy metals and boosts your memory. It also contains a whopping four grams of protein per teaspoon, which helps you feel fuller longer (so important for breakfast!). It’s also a great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
